A paragraph is a group of sentence that have coherence, unity and has a central idea or topic. This definition may be a bit broad but it still defines what a paragraph should be. You cannot just write sentences that has no relation with each other and call it a paragraph. Here are some ways to write an effective and good paragraph.
The first thing that you have to incorporate in your paragraph is a central topic sentence. This sentence is the controlling idea of the whole paragraph. Then you will write the supporting ideas for your central topic. It is a good idea to put them first in an outline form so that you will not be lost when you are writing your paragraph. Make sure that your supporting ideas are in logical order or else the form and coherence of the paragraph would have no sense. Then you will have to think of an effective and strong conclusion or concluding sentence. Below are the steps (in outline form) that you can use for writing an effective paragraph.

II. Conclusion or your Concluding Sentence
Remember that your paragraph must have coherence. This means that you will write it on a well organized manner, logically ordered and the reader would have an easy time following and reading your paragraph. If you follow all these tips then you can make a good and effective paragraph.
