Some famous people who have led interesting and exciting lives have written autobiographical books. However, we are talking about essays so it is just the same as a personal narrative which will tell the reader what kind of a person you are and highlight a particular part of your life that you want to share. An autobiographical essay usually consist of 1,000 to 3,000 words. It is recommended that you choose your theme and outline your draft first to organize your writing.

The first thing that you have to do is to choose a theme for your essay. It does not have to be a story of your life from your birth to the present time. The idea is to present a theme that will clearly show a part of your personality.

After choosing a theme, you can now write an outline which will serve as the framework of your autobiographical essay. You can write an essay about your travels and the different experiences you gained abroad.

You can now write a rough draft of your essay. Make the narration more personal and do not just tell the events as it is. Make the reader feel what you felt during that experience.

An effective way to make the reader feel the human side and the emotion of your narration, you can use more descriptive words. Read your essay again and see if there are still some things that needed to be changed. You also want your essay to leave a good impression to the reader.

Type your essay in Microsoft Word so that you can check the spelling and the grammar automatically. If there are mistakes, try to revise it immediately.

Lastly, you should think of a title that is catchy and a title that will make the reader keep reading your essay.
